I Inspire Me

Just a while ago I sent in an entry for the I Inspire Me challenge (unfortunately I didn't win, but that's ok, there's always next time...heehee). I think they deserve an honourable mention: (1) the level of creativity by these scrapper is amazing (2) the ideas for us scrappers to get involved is great. Last time I just used a page from my calendar and it totally worked and (3) they actually take the time to post you links for the challenge. Even though I didn't win, I felt proud that they took the time to post our links on the blog, it shows that they care and appreciate the hard work people put into these things. :)

So please, go check out I Inspire Me - they also have a RAK ....wooooo :) And I certainly wouldn't mind winning....heehee! :)

"40 Days"

...40 days...

...and what an exciting 40 days it will be. A blog I just recently stumbled upon by Beverley Todd is offering a chance to win a prize every day for 40 days, does it get any better? I think not!! What an awesome idea. Beverley is turning 40 in 40 days and is giving all us blogger and scrappers a chance at some goodies...yum!! Maybe with 40 chances at winning I may FINALLY get a chance at getting some goodies in the mail....heehee! If not, it's still awesome to check out her site each day for the next 40 days, gives me something to look forward to.

Beverley's first prize chance was to leave her a comment on what she should do to celebrate being in her 40's. Well, I can't think of a better way that giving away 40 prizes to some lucky people, and probably making some online friends along the way.

So happy-almost birthday Beverley!!

And I encourage you all to get in on the festivities on her blog "Crafty Moments!"

A Garden of Memories

I spend nearly two hours every day reading and browsing online scrapbooking blogs. Just this week previous I stumbled upon A Garden of Memories from a link off another blog I was reading, and I just adore it! Aimee D. Grenier is the proud owner and believe it, it's worth going and having a look. Not only do she have a variety of Blog Candy giveaways (which is always an added bonus), she has many links to other sites and fun projects to try.

So, I dare you, go and check out A Garden of Memories! :)

My Favorite Layout

My most favorite layout is certainly the one of the girlies during this past New Years. I love the simplicity of it, but yet the elegance. When I was reading the Unpubbed blog today they had a challenge to link them to our favorite LO. Well, this is mine, I just friggin' love it! I love the way it looks, I love the way it made me feel when I completed it, I love everything about it!

I Inspire Me Challenge

Tonight I finally did a re-do of a LO with myself and my brother in it that I've been wanting to re-do for months!! I was reading through some scrapbooking blogs as usual and came across a new one called I Inspire Me. There they had the most interesting challenge, you basically had to choose something that inspires you and use it to create a layout. So for mine I chose my calendar that Natasha gave me for Christmas this year. It's the cutest ever, by Jim Benton, and has witty comments every month that reminds me of myself. So I used the June picture for my inspiration.

I loved all of the blues and greens (and the pink of course, but I had to limit the pink since I wanted it to be a little "manly" heehee). I also loved the saying, and wanted to use something from it, so I used the words cute and nice as inspiration to describe my brother.

This is my original LO before I changed it around using a sketch from My Sketch World.

Here is the original (sorry for the poor quality, I need a better camera).

So I ripped it all to pieces (as you can see the start of here), and I was left with a MESS! Glue is not pretty to get off, ugh! However, this is what I ended up with. Oh, and the whitish looking ribbon is actually pink, my scanner also sucks.

I really love it! It looks much better in real life. The circles have things about my brother, characteristics, facts, likes, etc. It really inspired me to think about my brother and to find about 20 things about him that I thought made him special. This was a fantasic challenge that I'm glad I have taken the time to do for myself!

Cheers!

Finally Up and Running!

For the past few months I've been meaning to upload my scrapbooking pages and to get a blog going- will here it is! Finally! Just last night I discovered that I can scan my pages (I'm a bit behind with this apparently...ha!), I found an excellent program called ArcSoft Scan-and-Stitch- LOVE IT!!

So today I took on a challenge over at Sisterhood of Scrap, which is one of my ultimate fave sites, I check it every day, sometimes twice a day, but this is the first time I've ever sent them a link to my scrapbooking. There challenge was: "use the Sisterhood blog topper -our Sisterhood of Scrap Goal- as inspiration for your title!" I used the word HEART which is a part of their blog topper and done a LO of our dear Cruz who passed away August 24th of just last year. I miss him dearly and this is one of several pages I have done of Cruz.

I also sent the Sisters my e-mail address for a chance at their Mystery Envie- this is where you get an envelope with different scrapin' stuff and you have to make a LO out of it and send them the picture. There will be 8 members chosen, it's so nice to see the different views people have from the same materials.

Cheers!
