CIBC Run for the Cure
Well tonight my roomie and I held our CIBC Run for the Cure poker fundraiser in support of breast cancer research. We are participating in the walk on October 5th and we kept putting our fundraising off, so just two weeks ago we decided to have a poker game. A local bar here in the city let us use their facilities for free, 50% of the money went to us for the fundrasier and the other 50% went to the winners.
Our goal for the fundraiser was to clear $300.
WE ACTUALLY RAISED $640!!!!!!
We more then doubled our goal. It was fantastic. People are so generous (and really love to gamble apparently!).
The only sad part was that only 4 (out of 300) of our friends that we invited showed up. The other 26 were complete strangers who just came out to play a game of poker. There really are good people out there, and we are so thankful to them.
I'm still going to try to get more donations from friends and fellow teachers, so maybe I will get more to add to that.
And for our 4 friends (and a couple who sent donations) we are holding a dinner next Friday night for them! :)

Wedding LO's
Good evening all!! Hope everyone is having a great day. It is freezing here in Newfoundland today...I hate to say this...buttttt...WINTER is right around the corner. I had to put an extra blanket on the bed tonight, and I am half tempted to turn my electric heaters on, but I really love the power bill being SUPER low..heehee!
Here are two LO's I completed last night of my moms wedding. Hoping to get her album done for Christmas. So I'm sure you will be sick of seeing purple (as this was her wedding color) and I will be sick of using it!!
These are done for two challenges over at the Scrapbook Heaven's crop and the sketches are again from Sisterhood of Scrap Sketch Saturdays.
"Me Too!"- Journaling reads: "Brandy wanted to be an important part of her mom and dad's special day!" This is my mom and her husbands dog who was very excited to see them lying in the grass for picture time.
"Cake Cutting" -this is them cutting their wedding cake. Love the cake topping (my idea- I bought it!), it is of the bride dragging the groom by the leg...lol. AND I used my tag that I posted a few days ago of the picture transfer!
CHeers!

They are all for the crop over at Scrapbook Heaven (I really need to upload them there too I guess...heehee). All of the sketches used were from the Sketch Saturday posts over at Sisterhood of Scrap. They have the most amazing sketch designers every saturday, so drop by sometime and say hello and maybe use a sketch or two!

Image Transfer
I recently signed up for a class called Creative Techniques 101 over at Creative Scrappers. Our first lesson was posted yesterday and it was an image transfer of a picture from your printer to a tag/cardstock. For the life of me I couldn't get this to work. However, with the new addition of a jar of modpodge I was successful.
Here is my first tag made from an image transfer of my moms wedding cake. I can't wait to use it on a LO. I like it, and I can't wait to make more...I don't have much of a variety of stamps or anything, so it's a bit plain, but eh, that's me!!
I also created 3 LO's last night, but my scanner hates me (honestly!!) and will not work. Fun times!
Oh!! And my dear boyfriend bought me a cuttlebug and some dies for my birthday-- LOVE IT!!
Cheers!

Finally Some Layouts!
Based on Sketch # 16 over at Creative Scrappers and also for the Sisterhood of Scrap challenge this week which was to use Fall colors!
"The Staff"- My uncle who was a teacher and the other staff members.
This LO used the sketch from Unpubbed and I am also using it for the Pen Pals challenge which is to journal about your HOPES. My hopes (which is the journalling in this LO) is about being an inspiration to my students and reaching my goals, which he always pushed me to do.
Ugh! I just cannot get into the crafty mood. It's taking me forever to complete my LO's, and it's driving me nuts. But I think I finally figured out why. I keep all of my things in containers in my room and our spare (guest?) room. Whenever I want to create something I have to carry all of my containers to my kitchen table, unpack them and then when I'm finished I have to pack them all up and put them all away again. I NEED A CRAFTING ROOM. So that when I don't have the time to finish something I can just leave it and come back to it another time. I just get so frustrated. I cannot wait to move and get a bigger place so I can have a crafting room (actually an office too, because my teaching books are taking over our bedroom). Ohhhh wellllll...
Hope you had a great weekend!! :)

Family Layout
Howdy! This is a layout I created yesterday of my brother and his graduation. It was done with a couple (well, 3!) challenges in mind.
The sketch I used was from Sketch # 36 from 52 Sketches...52 Weeks. And last weeks challenge over at Sisterhood of Scrap was to create a layout featuring a lesson learned/school related. And the third challenge over at Pen Pals is to use numbers in your lo. Just click on mine above if you want to read the journaling.
I hope you're having a great day! Cheers!

First Layout for Scrap Addict DT
This is my September layout for the sketch from Deanne's "A Scrap Addict's" DT! It took me a while to figure out what I wanted to do, the first sketch was a doozey, but super fun. I am very pleased with how it turned out. Go on over and check out the sketch and see what the other design team members done!
Mystery Envy!
Over at Sisterhood of Scrap I was one of the lucky people who had the chance to recieve a mystery envelope of scrapping items to design a page. There were 7(?) people who also had this chance and it was so nice seeing how different everyone is with their styles.
This is my layout. The 12x12 paper and one flower along with the 4 little "dazzles" were all I added, the rest were what I got from the sisters. It's a layout of some of my bestest buds- Jeanette (my roomie), Jen (I've known her since grade 2), Natasha (known her all my life), and April (known her forever as well).
Back From Vacation!
FINALLY! I am back from my vacation- and I discovered that 3 weeks is too long! Especially when everyone is working and you only get to see people on the weekends! I missed my scrapbooking and crafting- I think it is what keeps me sane. I bought some new goodies while I was away, had some given to me on my birthday August 24th, and there were even some yummy packages in the mail! :)
On a sadder note, I added a new "template" that I found for free on the net today, and when I added it, I deleted all of my blogs that I had on my blog list...now I have no one! So tonight begins the journey of finding most of my fave blogs again to add them to a new list.
I have some layouts to add tonight as well that I completed before I left for my vacation. And I hope this weekend brings lots of time to craft!
