Sunday Night Chit Chat!

**This is a card I created for a Card Idol contest--and I've actually moved on to the last round! Yay me!

What are you…

Cooking/Baking? I haven't cooked or baked anything all day! My dad took me out for breakfast this morning and when I returned home late this evening I warmed up some frozen spaghetti sauce and had it over rice (I love it on rice heehee!)

Watching/Reading? Just catching up on some blogs now. Heading to bed very soon. There is a Christmas moving playing on the tv, but I haven't been paying attention to it and can't even tell you the title lol!

Listening To? Whatever that movie is...and the furnace. Our oil bill is SO expensive--I can hear my money disappearing each time the furnace cuts in. This is my first experience with oil, and I'm not enjoying it!

Happy You Accomplished this week? I went to my cousin's wedding this weekend. It was beautiful. I seen all my family on my dad's side, so it was fantastic. I also just finished two homemade gifts-- my goal for next year is to increase it to around 10 homemade gifts.

I'm planning on getting my 2012 goals (financial and personal completed this week-- or so I hope!)

Pop on by at My 1/2 Dozen Daily (http://halfdozendaily.blog.com/) and have a little chit chat :)

Sunday Night Chit Chat!

Following along with My 1/2 Dozen Daily I'm doing a little Sunday night chit chat!

Cooking/Baking…Really nothing for like 2 weeks now. My boyfriend is home from work and he does ALL the cooking--I really enjoy the break. I do, however, have to make 6 dozen cookies for a cookie exchange that I'm taking part in on Tuesday night. Yikes! My first time baking lol.

Watching/Reading…Watching Home Alone!! Love that movie--I still die laughing at it every time I see it. It's one of my all-time childhood faves.

Listening To…Home Alone lol.

Looking Forward to this week...is the cookie exchange, the christmas concert the school I teach at and a wedding I'm standing for this weekend. It is my cousin's wedding and it will be very nice to see my fam!

Happy You Accomplished this Weekend…Nearly completed all of my Christmas shopping. Just a few stocking stuffer items to get done. I also wrapped some presents, made some cards and started a calendar I'm doing for my friend for Christmas. I had a great weekend--wish it wouldn't end! But I can't complain, I look forward to seeing my students each Monday!

Hope you all have a fantastic week!

Celebrate the Holidays

This a new years card I made a lil while back. I love the image, it's totally me. Inside it says "wishing ewe a happy new year"---my mom didn't get it!? lol.

POSITIVE NOTE OF THE DAY: We've decided to put up a Christmas tree. It's my first one with my boyfriend-- I thought it was super exciting. Maybe I should take a picture of it :)

The Magic of the Season

Here is a quick Christmas card I whipped up. I wish I had all day long to craft--I sure do miss it being at work all the time. I love teaching, but c'mon, who wouldn't want to craft all day?!

POSITIVE NOTE OF THE DAY: It's half way through the work week! I'm applying to start my masters of education program this week. Wish me luck :)

Whimsie Doodles November Challenge

I know I've already shown you all this tag, but I'm entering it into the Whimsie Doodles November Challenge which was to create something with a tag. Well, it's a tag, and I used a Whimsie Doodle imagine so yay me, I'm entering! Swing on by! They are also considering someone for the guest spot for January-- woot!

Joy

Here's a quick Christmas card I whipped up other night. I like the simplicity of it for some reason. I've been hoarding that poinsettia for about 3 years now--but I've recently given up saving my things for "special" projects...the quicker I get rid of them the quicker I get new goodies!! :)

Positive Note of the Day: Parent-Teacher Interviews for term one are complete. I only had 7 out of 16 parents attend--I was a wee bit disappointed, but it's their children so I guess I don't need to feel bad. But all the hard work is over for a little bit- can't wait to just get back into the usual classroom things now that I'm finally over this terrible cold!

Win $500-- no, seriously!

Give Me Back my Five Bucks is offering the chance at winning $500 cash to put towards your financial bucket list. My financial bucket list includes: 1) Paying off my CC debt 2) Paying off my student loan (probably take me another 10 years! *sigh* 3) Save for a down payment on a house 4) Start saving for an emergency fund 5) Start a savings fund.

In my budget for the next 6 months I've actually started a massive CC repayment plan. Included in the budget is a savings and emergency fund--yay! It's going to be a tight squeeze..which equals no shopping for a year or so probably...but I think it'll be worth it.

You should stop on over for your chance at the $500 Give Me Back My Five Bucks Competition, sponsored by Life Insurance Finder, the life insurance experts!

CARD: Smiles & Laughter

This is a card I whipped up for my mom's friend who wanted a "missing you" card to send to her family. She didn't want anything too crazy or wild...hmmm...hope it isn't...heehee!!

Positive Note of the Day: My mom and one of her friends came to visit me. It's super welcomed especially since I am sick. She cooked me a pot of soup last night! :)

Sunday Night Chit-Chat

Miss Seven all cuddled up! She's a little bit of a drama queen, but she's my baby heehee!

What are you…

Cooking/Baking…

I made Brushetta Chicken Bake for supper....it's super easy and super yummy. Even made enough to freeze two meals plus a meal to take for my lunch tomorrow. Loves having some frozen meals on hand. Resorted to two frozen, gross, store-bought meals last week. Shame on me!

Watching/Reading…

Watching AMA's right now, but it's bed time. Not sure if I'll get a chance to read or not...if so, I am reading The Help. Loveee ittt!

Listening To…

The wind whistling. Super windy tonight and this place we're renting is so old that everything rattles and roars...the poor pup has about 20 heart attacks each day!

Looking Forward to this week…

Getting through my parent-teacher meetings. They are on Thursday and so far I've put around 18 hours into preparing my reports to send home. I'm also going home to visit the parents on Saturday, just for the night, but I'm still definitely looking forward to it. It's a long drive but I'm also picking up my Christmas decorations, so that's a bonus.

Happy You Accomplished today…

I corrected a MASSIVE pile of the student's work (note to self: correct every night rather than once in 2 months!!!), proof-read, fixed and re-printed my student reports, cooked supper, and created one gift tag. I signed up for my first swap a couple weeks ago and I have to make 10 Christmas tags that include a snowman. This is my first one ever and I made this one for my dad, somewhat as a template. This isn't my final color scheme or anything, just seeing what the image looked like. What do you think? Anything you would recommend I change/do since it's for a swap?

Just playing along with Half Dozen Daily---my inspiration it seems for Sundays :) What are you doing tonight?

Saturday's To Do List

Boy oh boy it has been a busy week. Spent 17 hours of my week doing out report cards. They are done, passed into the principal and now they are handed back for revisions. So I need to devote another 1-2 hours revising and then printing again. Super fun.

Simple Sunday

So I got this idea for Simple Sunday from My 1/2 Dozen Daily. This is totally one of my fave reads, I always stop by there every day. From this comes my inspiration to start my own Simple Sunday. I'm not feeling the best today, so I'm thinking it's back to bed to do some reading and cuddle with my puppers for me!! Hope your Sunday is going well.

On my "to-do" list today (with the way I'm feeling this could be a 3 day list heehee) is:
  • Do 2 loads of laundry (DONE!--Actually I managed 5!)
  • Clean master bathroom
  • Lesson plan for tomorrow (DONE!--Hope I'm not too sick to make it there!)
  • Set up a classroom Boggle game (as seen on Pinterest)
  • Create 2 Christmas cards (DONE!--Finished 2 Christmas cards plus one custom order "Missing you" card!)

I hope it isn't too ambitious for today. I was going to go shopping but that involves a 1-hour car ride to and from, so forget that :)

This card makes me happy!

Loving the orange and blue together. Not my usual colors for crafting, I'm more of a pink girl. But it's super think I think. My cousin wanted a card made for her mom, so I whipped this up last night using the sketch over at Sketch Support. Pop on over and have a look around!

Custom Order 2

This is the second custom card order for my friend. It is the second birthday card for her mom. I also whipped up this quick coordinating gift tag to pop in with her cards too (also made one for the other card-- see previous post). I'm really hoping she likes them.

I have used the sketch over at Skipping Stones Design. Fabby sketch and blog so feel free to pop on over!!

Custom Card Order 1

This is a card and a quick gift tag that I put together for my friend tonight as a custom order. She requested two cards for her mother's upcoming 75th birthday. So this is the one that I created from her and the other one I created is from her kids (coming in the next post).

I used a sketch from Papertake Weekly. Fantastic spot to go check out. This is my first time over there and got the idea for the sketch from the fabby blog Stampin When I Can where Allison complies a great list of sketches each week. It's definitely worth going to check out both sites.

Love is in the air

This is the super adorable (or I think so!) coupon book I made for my boyfriend. I live is SEVERE isolation where I teach and can't get out to get him a gift, so he asked for a "love" coupon book. I thought it was a silly idea but when I seen printable coupon pages I thought maybe it wasn't such a bad idea.
**I just hope he doesn't see this post-- if you're looking-- oops heehee!!
I used my Cricut and the cartridge Indie Art. Such an awesome cartridge. I used it for the lips and for the SMACK. This is for challenge two on the Die Cuttin Divas challenge blog. Awesome blog!! I still haven't did the first one yet, but it's on the list of "to-do". Hope you have an enjoyable day :)

love you so....

This is a valentine's day card I created for my mom and her hubby. They're awesome people and deserve this so much!!
I used the sketch over at Friday Sketchers. You should pop by every Friday and see the new fabby sketch.

Love you!

This is a card I made for my Dad for Valentine's Day. I used a sketch over at Crafts 4 Eternity. Fabby sketch, you should pop over and see it.
So pleased that all my Valentine's Day cards are officially made-- as they should be since it's just a few days away heehee!

thanks

This is a simple little thank you notecard that I threw together last night. I like the 'springy' cheer behind it. I hope spring is near :)
I used a sketch at Heart 2 Heart, but I can't enter it because I have no CTMH products. But the sketch is fabby!

laugh PLAY discover

Woooo, my first layout in FOREVA!!!! I was so pleased that I finally sat down and completed one. It seems as though I've only been making cards this past while. This is a LO of myself and two of my friends this summer past while on a lil boating adventure.
I stamped the red paper with brown inked flowers. I first stamped green paper but hated the look of it, so I changed it up and done it with some red. The green paper is below. I really didn't like the look...not for this LO anyways, I'll probably use it for a card :)
I used a sketch from Designed to Inspire your Creativity! They have a sketch challenge going on right now and it's lasting for two weeks, you may want to pop by for some inspiration!

I'm this many...

So this is a card I made for my godson for his 4th bithday. It didn't quite turn out as "kiddy" as I had hoped, but I still like it. Would be super nice for a teen prehaps.

I used the sketch over at The Sweetest Thing. The sketch is very fabby!

I'm hoping to really get into the groove of things with my crafting again. This is two posts in one day, so I hope I can keep it up, at least a little heehee!!

Hope you're all doing well out there in blogland :)

Bonus Challenge!! New Challenge Blog!!

So I came across this new challenge blog--and I think it's gonna really get me into the mood of crafting again. It is a challenge blog to use any die cutting machine. I have a Cricut and I RARELY EVER use it...it's so sad really. I was so happy to make this card for my friend's daughter this past weekend.

The cartridge that I used was the STRETCH YOUR IMAGINATION one. I used the snowman and the snowflakes. I love how this card turned out. A big thank you to Die Cuttin Divas for the inspiration and I cannot wait to get started with all your challenges!!
