Card Crazy!!

I know I haven't updated since Halloween, but I have been crafting all the time! Just not uploading because I still DO NOT have internet at home...boooo!! But here are some cards I tried other night, I'm still not quite a confident card maker, but here is somewhat of an attempt. Hope you are all getting in the holiday spirit!

Halloween!

I know I haven't updated in FOREVER, however, I have been doing some crafting here and there. I just haven't been updating because we have no internet at home and I've been uber busy. Anyone who thinks the life of a teacher is easy needs to think again!!! Heehee!!! :) Hope you are all doing well, I've been creepin' on blogs here and there, so it's not that I've disappeared!

Sweet 16

This is a card I made for my cousin to give to one of her friends. I have a CRICUT!!! Woot woot!! I used the Hello Kitty catridge for this card. She loved it and I must say, I thought it was really cute too! I have a load of new scrap goodies (a whole room full) and I can't wait to start doing some more crafty things...but summer seems to get in the way..ooohhh welllll. Hope you're all having a fantastic summer! :)

Foster Puppy

Isn't he the sweetest. Such a sad story however. This puppy was found in the dumpster outside the school I teach at. Someone threw him in there, to die I assume. One of the teachers found him and brought him to me. I had him for nearly a week. Then one dinner time there was a knock at my door. Someone came to "claim" the puppy, after a week (there is only 1000 people in this community--so EVERYONE knew I had the puppy). They called me some terrible names and were about to get possibly violent, so I had to hand the puppy over to him. I miss him so much.

Cannot wait to get back to my hometown when my teaching is over in 11 days!! I need my scrapping goodies!!

YMBD Gives Back Crop!

Welcome everyone to our "YMBD Gives Back" National Scrapbooking Day Online Crop! We are so glad you joined us and are thrilled that you are going to help us "Give Back"! Official crop kickoff is 7pm EST tonight (Friday May 1st) and runs all weekend long! Deadline for all crop submissions is Midnight EST on Tuesday, May 5th.

So how is YMBD "Giving Back" you ask? Well.... The last time we "gave back" we colaborated as a group to make "Cards for Heros", which is a US based organization supporting US Military Troups. During that time, there were several requests wanting to support a Canadian cause next, and I promised we would!



So here's the story... This May marks the 6th year of the anniversary that we lost my Dad to cancer. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer on April 1st, 2003 and passed away only 5 weeks later (3 days shy of his 57th birthday). The sad part is, I really don't think I know anyone who's life has not been touched by cancer in some way or another. And we all need to work together to help find a cure. And YMBD is going to do that by donating proceeds from this weekend's crop to the Canadian Cancer Society. It really doesn't matter in the long run, which cancer society gets our funds, because any breakthroughs anywhere will benefit everyone around the world! And I know together we can all make a difference!

Challenge # 8: SOS Sock Hop

The challenge for # 8 (found at Susan's blog) is to use some 50s slang. I used the word "blast" which means to have fun. I actually use this word a lot...lol. This is another lil 6x6 page I made for my cousins pregnancy album. 6x6 is wayyy harder than I imagined...ha ha!! soooooooo smalllll....

Challenge # 6: SOS Sock Hop

This time the challenge is to use all white on a LO. This is another of the 6x6 I did for my cousins pregnancy album. I loved this challenge...so fun!! It can be found over on Carla's blog!!

Challenge # 4: SOS Sock Hop

Another lil 6x6 page for my cousins pregnancy album. Challenge # 4 is to use a top song from the 50s on your LO. I chose the son "little bitty pretty one" heehee...the little bitty you can't really see, but it's in the circle above (camera is crazy!). And the second part to the challenge was to use 5 circular elements-- which I've totally outdid...lol. This time the fabby challenge can be found at Jennifer's blog!!

Challenge 3: SOS Sock Hop

And my entry for challenge # 3. This time we were challenged to use the song "Lollipop" as inspiration. This is TWO 6x6 pages of my cousin's pregnancy album I just completed. I chose the part "....sweetet than candy..." from the song. Heehee....you can find this challenge over on Candace's blog

Challenge # 2: SOS Sock Hop

The challenge this time (found at Christina's blog) was to use blue, red, yellow and white. Although the paper looks green, I assure you it is BLUE. This is another 6x6 page for my cousins pregnany album!! Thanks for the great challenge Christina! :)

Challenge # 1: SOS Sock Hop

This is my entry for Challenge # 1 at the Sisterhood of Scrap crop that is nearing the end. I've finished over half of the challenges so I figure I may as well upload them...lol. Each page I done was for a 6x6 album for my younger cousin who just had her first baby!!

For this challenge you had to use a picture (found on Deanne's blog) as inspiration. I used the poka dots as my inspiration, I didn't have any pink poka dot so I opted for this as it's all I have right now!!

Past LO's

Here are some LO's I've completed in the past couple of weeks. I've been too miserable to post anything or do anything really. I've had a cold, an ear infection and I'm pretty sure I have a sinus infection right now, it's been a painful, draining 3 weeks!! Most of these were done for my DT position at Beary Box, with the exception of the "Love Birds" one which was done for Your Memories By Design.

This was one of the challenges over at Your Memories By Design forum this weekend-- there was a fabby crop going on. The challenge was to do a LO without a picture. This was my LO for Beary Box last week! I forgot to post it-- my bad!! I LOVE THIS PICTURE! It's a stuffed dog that my cousin won at a fair and he gave it to me, but I had to leave it with another friend in Alberta was it was TOO BIG to bring home...lol. So I tried to make this look like a dog house...HA HA!

Holiday Love

I love this card!!!! I saw the idea over on Christmas Cards All Year Round (which I'm also entering this card for their challenge this month!). I just traced and cut a whole bunch of hearts, then I put fun flock over all of the edges so it looked like it snowed on the Christmas tree...heehee! LOVEEEEEEEEEE ITTTTTTTTT!! I used the fabulous sketch from A-Scrap Addict's Sketches for this card. Deanne has a competition going on, you should pop over and see what it is.

Be Jolly

And here goes some more Valentine's colors on my Christmas cards...lol. I like this card, it's simple, but quite cute. Maybe this year I will actually give out my cards, UNLIKE LAST YEAR!! And these little ones that I've made will fit into a regular envelope, so that's a bonus. This is another entry for Christmas Cards All Year Round and I also used another sketch from Deanne's fabby blog- A Scrap Addict's Sketches.

A Jolly Holiday

This card was pretty easy to make. I think everything on this card came from a Christmas pack I bought at Michael's last year. I used the sketch over at A-Scrap Addict's Sketches. I just cut strips of paper in pink and reds and whites and then put them together and ta-da...this is what we have. This is another entry for Christmas Cards All Year Round since it uses Valentines colors...lol.

And yes! Another Christmas card...lol. Another entry for Christmas Cards All Year Round. This is a super sparkly card. The Noel letters were just blank chipboard. I wanted it to be sparkly so out came the Stickles!! Love those things. It took A LOT but I love the way they sparkle. I once again used a sketch by Deanne over at A Scrap Addict's Sketch blog.

This is the first of my Christmas cards for this year! Yes! Christmas cards...lol. This is my entry for the Christmas Cards All Year Round blog which was to use Valentine's day colors and hearts! Well this one has red and a heart. I'm not a huge fan of it...it's missing somethin' I think! I used the sketch over at A-Scrap Addict's Sketches blog. See the sketch below. CARS Birthday Card

This is a birthday card I made for my Godson's 2nd birthday. He (well, his grandmother) sent me an invitation to his party so I used a part of the image from it to do this card.
